Early in life, I developed a passion for the financial markets and I discovered the importance of exceptional customer service. Service to my neighbors in the Highlands community and the rewards of growing a locally-owned business developed my entrepreneurial spirit.

After several summers of 7 day a week work, I left to study International Finance in Den Hagge, Netherlands, which furthered my interest in global finance. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelors of Science in Finance and immediately took a position at a regional securities firm. During my eight years at that firm, I helped to advise clients through diverse and challenging life choices. These experiences inspired my desire to own an independent financial advisory practice. In May of 2009, I helped found LIFETIME WEALTH STRATEGIES.

Away from work, joy comes to me in these ways:

  • Do-it-yourself projects, hiking, fishing, tasting fine wines and bourbons, and coin collecting.
  • On most weekends, you can find me working around the house on a new project, or fishing with my children, Marshall and Ainsley.

Some of the most important lessons I have learned in life started at an early age and have guided me throughout my career. 

I am fortunate to have great parents that taught me the values of hard work, attention to detail, honesty, integrity, education, saving, and the importance of helping others.  These are all values that are still very important to me and I strive to live by and utilize to help the clients I serve.

I co-founded LIFETIME WEALTH STRATEGIES in 2009 with the goal of developing a process to better understand clients' financial needs and desires and to provide comprehensive solutions that would allow clients to gain a sense of empowerment and clarity. We have enhanced and refined our own proprietary planning process and we call it the BoKEH formula. BoKEH stands for Balance of Knowledge Empowerment and Happiness.

I have over 20 years of experience advising professionals, retirees and business owners. I received my Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation in 2013 to focus on income strategies for our retired clients. I enjoy building strategies that can last a lifetime for our clients and their families.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my wife Angie and dogs Bunnie and Copper.  My hobbies include golf, tennis, boating at Nolin Lake, ping pong, and  U of L sports.  I am a member of Oxmoor Country Club, and Blairwood Tennis Center.

I love what I do and have always been driven by a desire to help others. I have a passion for helping clients uncover and focus on what matters most. It is such a gift to see the positive impact on the lives I touch.

Since 2001, I have been empowering successful professionals and business owners with the knowledge to make the most appropriate decisions regarding wealth accumulation and preservation, whether that be for retirement needs, legacy planning, philanthropy or additional goals. We have developed and refined a process that brings into focus the things that matter most, no matter what season of life someone may be in. This is our BoKEH formula, which stands for Balance of Knowledge Empowerment and Happiness.This process helps to bring goals into focus while reducing the distractions of daily life that tend to stand in the way of what matters most.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM I am held to strict ethical standards to ensure financial planning recommendations are in your best interest. A professional with a Certification for Long-Term Care designation has acquired the critical tools necessary to discuss the subject of longevity and its acute consequences on a client's family – financially, physically and emotionally – years down the road. 

When not consulting with clients, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three daughters, travelling, hiking, photography, gardening, music and scuba. I also enjoy giving back and believe that being a good steward applies  both in consulting with clients as well as being actively involved in the community. Organizations I am actively involved with and support include: Volunteers of America, CrossRoads Ministry, Plowshares Farm for Education and Spirituality, and Hand in Hand Ministries.

As part of the LIFETIME WEALTH STRATEGIES team, I dedicate my time to creating your financial plan and helping you understand the solutions available to you. Our process helps us address your top priorities and stay on top of critical events that occur as your life unfolds and needs evolve. This includes returning phone calls promptly, meeting with you on a regular basis, and being available to discuss your questions and concerns. My ultimate goal is to empower you with the knowledge to make informed decisions in every season of life.

I want to learn about your triumphs and struggles as well as your goals and dreams.

Developing relationships is what I enjoy most about being a financial advisor. My personal experience with children, divorce, corporate downsizing, career changes, aging parents and deaths of a spouse and parents helps me relate to the particular needs of people in personal and professional transitions.

In my 27 years in financial services, I have found it is far too common for financial advisors to take a client’s money and invest it in products that are most beneficial and convenient for the advisor. My approach has been to focus on my client and let my client’s goals determine my strategy. Building strong relationships is my primary consideration and my income is determined by managing portfolio performance and providing exceptional service. 

I grew up in New Jersey and graduated from St Lawrence University in New York before beginning my professional career as a management trainee at a large insurance company in Boston, Massachusetts. Soon I was managing the design and implementation of portfolio management systems for large institutional investors at a consulting firm. In 1980, I relocated and earned my MBA from the University of Louisville. While an instructor of Management at Bellarmine University Rubel School of Business, I also developed strategic and marketing plans for small and medium-sized businesses as an independent consultant.

In 1993, my love of learning, educating, building relationships, strategies, and portfolios, and my experience in business and consulting led me to pursue a fulltime career as a financial advisor and I have never regretted that decision. Working alongside EJ Gary for over 20 years helped me recognize how much I value collaborating with others as passionate as I am about helping our clients. Ann Marie Gary and I are excited to bring our clients to Lifetime Wealth Strategies and introduce them to the expanded opportunities being part of a larger team with diverse expertise provides.

When I am not working, I enjoy swimming, hiking, reading and spending time with friends. I volunteer in the Every 1 Reads program through Jefferson County Public Schools.  My two favorite people are my grown children, who live in Columbus, Ohio and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I am blessed to be part of a team that is focused on addressing client needs.

My path toward finance was sealed after reading Using Your Money Wisely and Debt-FREE Living, both by Larry Burkett. I changed my college major to Finance and have kept moving down that path ever since. Over the years I have grown in my knowledge of financial planning. It has been a pleasure knowing that I have been a part of our process of building strategies for our clients.

We all have the same goals: (1) provide clients with outstanding service, (2) empower them with knowledge to give insight, (3) deliver financial confidence through understanding a client’s customized plan. I have spent many years building relationships with clients and supporting them as they work with our advisors toward their goals. Through account applications and servicing, signatures and approvals, distributions and transfers, I focus on keeping us on track and resolving issues, before they occur whenever possible.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the Culverhouse College of Commerce at the University of Alabama with a major in Finance.

At home, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our children, attending their many activities, gardening, baking, and Bama football Saturdays.

Building trust in long-lasting relationships is an amazing and fulfilling experience. I continue to educate myself every day so I can provide the best service our clients deserve.

A Louisville native, I attended St. Agnes Catholic School and Assumption High before entering Spalding University. While holding several positions at a worldwide technology and manufacturing company, and having my daughter, I completed my B.S. degree in Business Administration. These experiences introduced me to a corporate business culture, prepared me for the daily activities and interactions I have with co-workers and clients, and taught me living a full life enriches every part of that life.

In 2013, I took the opportunity to work with my father EJ Gary and Judy Morrison in financial services because I recognized business, education, and family did not have to compete for my attention and purpose, but should be mutually enriching. Mentoring from two experienced financial professionals helped make the transition to client service easy. My focus at Lifetime Wealth Strategies is working with clients as we build our balance of knowledge, empowerment and happiness together.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my daughter Autumn and busting out a good workout at Burn Louisville a couple days a week. I also coach Club Travel volleyball for KIVA and play in an adult league.

At Lifetime Wealth Strategies I work with our team to assist in a smooth delivery that supports our clients’ financial goals. Working with a skilled and tenured group of professionals is important to me. “Seasoned and experienced” defines LWS, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of a such a solid team.  

Earlier in my career, I spent over 15 years with a large financial services company, providing leadership and support in product development and delivery. After taking a career break to raise a family, I was anxious to get back into the business world. The opportunity to contribute my experience in support of insurance operations, lifelong learning seminars, and client relationship building continues to be rewarding. 

I have a BS in Business Administration from the University of Louisville with a major in Management.  I enjoy yoga and fitness training, reading, gardening. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our friends and most of all, watching our boys grow into young men.
